Inertia is a series of poems that tells the story of any ordinary day, but within there is a story of love, hope, desire and above all the longing to escape the crushing mundanity of everyday life.

This is a collection of previously unpublished and incomplete poems. They are poems that were without a home and so have been given one here. This book is more my B-Sides collection rather than a full album, hence the title of the book!
It features a variety of sequences containing traditional forms through to some concrete and experimental poetry.
Also available to buy as a paperback from Amazon here

Song of Songs is perhaps one of the most unique books in the bible but is often misunderstood and misplaced by the modern reader.
This interpretation is an attempt at re-framing the song in it's context as one the greatest love poems in history, translated as a poem rather than scripture and with the historical context in mind.

The Proverbs as we see them in scripture, can sometimes seem quite far removed from the wise words and sayings that would have been passed around and quoted among people and only to be written down for posterity. Now they are inexplicably part of a list of collected wisdom, often without separation. Some people may quote from scripture to make a point or read a selection of proverbs as part of a bible reading but rarely do we allow the space, physically and literally, to read the proverbs as singular sayings or poetry. The proverbs could be perhaps most likened to haiku poems in theme and length and so this book is an attempt to rediscover the proverbs as singular poems or snapshots of wisdom, to be appreciated and given the space to grow in our minds and hearts.
Koheleth, or Ecclesiastes resonates with the world we live in today and asks many of the same questions we ask when we look at the world in its messiness and confusion. In many ways the writer, Koheleth, is just like us, wrestling with life and striving to find the meaning in it.
For this reason Ecclesiastes has always been one of my favourite books of the bible and I know that others feel the same. Over the years I have returned to it again and again and constantly found it comforting, reassuring, challenging and relevant.
These poetic interpretations of Ecclesiastes are my way of engaging with the text, that I might know more of God and of the world God created.

A light-hearted and humorous approach which explores how you can write poetry.
I’m not into rules. I like experimenting and exploring ideas and the pursuit of creativity. However, I do also think that we can learn from some of the rules, conventions and mechanics of different types of poetry no matter how much we think we know.
Whether you are new to writing or whether you are a more experienced hand, I hope that there is something for everyone in this book, that it will be challenging and will help you to grow in your craft.
